Thai Food Day
So today i got the chance to try Thailand delicacies in a restaurant called Bodaeng Thai, located in Jl. Embong Kenongo no. 62 Surabaya. Its opening hours is from 10.30am tp 02.00 pm, and 06.00pm to 09.00pm. Their price is affordable to, range from around 40K to 200k IDR for foods, and they even offer 50% discount for dine-in except crabs, prawns, and some type of fish. For take-away they offer 30% discount for foods. The discount is available for all type of payment. So here's a little review from me, enjoy!
1. Seafood Tom Yum Goong
It's sour and fresh, but compared to the other tom yum i've had before, this one is most likely the best! Lots of herbs including ginger and onions makes the flavor tastes great! It contains fish, prawn, squid, and mushroom.
2. Pandan-wrapped chicken
The chicken is very tender. It's not too oily, and you can taste the pandan leaves' taste really clearly. Too bad the portion is small lol.
3. Pineapple Fried Rice
Oh yeah this is the most common fried rice found in Thai restaurant i guess. It's really good though. The saltiness is just right, with sweet, sour, fresh taste from the pineapple which blended nicely. It's topped with fried onions and cashew nuts.
4. Pad Thai
This stir-fried noodle is a must when you eat i Thai restaurant. This Pad Thai is also rich in flavor! It has sourness smell from citrus and taste from tomato. The tomato is just right too so it doesn't looked really red but you can taste it perfectly.
Nothing's bland or lack of flavor in every foods that i tried here.
5. Gourami with Mango Sauce
So here you can choose what type of fish you want from the available choices, and then you choose which cooking style to go with it. For this, the fish is made into fillet and fried, after that it's topped with sliced young mango and herbs plus onions. The young mango is not too sour, it still has sweet taste that it's really just fine to be eaten. Some Thai foods use too sour young mango that i can't eat it 😂 but i'm perfectly fine with this one!
6. Sakhu dessert
I usually choose cassava with coconut milk as dessert but i tried this one. It's pearl sagoo with boiled corn, some slices of coconut and stirred with coconut milk. It's served warm and it's really good!
