Calories at Caloria
Well there! Been a while since my last post! I actually on my exam week but since the schedule is just so random (it's true; at least my friends says so), i made time to wrote this.
After i took one of my exam early this week, i went to a fusion restaurant (they proclaimed it themselves in the menu) called Caloria, located in east Surabaya.
It's actually my best friend's birthday treat, so the foods and drinks i'll post here is all on her 😆😆
First of all we order escargot as the appetizer. They serve it with some bread crumbs and a thin slice of garlic baguette. The crumbs is a little bit damp and i think they put too much olive oil on it, because usually it should have strong arlic taste but this one doesn't really have it.
Then for the main menu we decide to order fettucine meatball and tropicale pizza. The pasta sauce is kinda bolognaise and what i like about this dish is because the amount of the sauce is just right and the meatballs is great! The sauce's taste is quite delicious but i don't think it's one of the best bolognaise sauce i've ever had.
Meanwhile, my friend really love the tropicale thin pizza. It has smoked ham, some pepperonnis, and pineapples as the main toppings. They also sprinkled some oregano on top of it so it give strong italian taste. I should say the portions is big enough; at least for the two of us. We didn't finish half of the pizza 😅
For the drinks, my friend ordered a mocktail (i forgot the name but what the description say is it's kinda virgin mojito) and i ordered a taro latte with pig latte art on it (it was my friend who tell the waiter to make a pig 😅). I should say their taro latte is good but not great. It has too much milk for me (but hey, it's a latte so it should contains milk isn't it? Lol)
For the price range, i didn't really look at it but i guess for the appetizer it's around IDR 50k, pasta IDR 60k-80k, pizza IDR 70k-90k, mocktail IDR 30k-35k, coffee IDR 30k-40k. But that's not all on menu. They also serve rice and many more.
What capture my attention is actually they serve dessert pizza, they change the tomato sauce into chocolate and the toppings is some cereals, m&m, and other sweets. But we think it might have weird taste and both of us doesn't really like too many sweets in one dish (it will definitely raise your blood-sugar rate! Take a look at the photos in their instagram!)
And anyway, they have great interior and decoration, so mostly people come to chit-chats and took photos there. It also have a spot on the left from the entrance which is quite silent and have that 'study-place' atmosphere.
