Today's lunchie (or rather i say brunchie ?) is Indonesian food! I rarely eat Indonesian food outside but i do have good sense about its taste. I seriously recommend this restaurant! It's a small restaurant with simple decoration yet it has that traditional charms which makes it more 'Indonesian' style. It also play traditional music which is easy listening (kinda remixed traditional music). My mom said this is modern traditional restaurant.
At first some of housewives around my neighborhood told my mom about this restaurant. Out of curiousity, we try it today and yes it is delicious!
We order various foods, and all of it is delicious!
First we have chicken satay (sate ayam) and it's as delicious as the famous sate ponorogo in Surabaya (it's one of the famous satay house in Surabaya). The sauce is really great, i mean i can eat only rice with its sauce! LOL
Then we order Oseng-Oseng Mercon. It's beef simmered with oil and chili. I can eat spicy foods and i guess this is pretty spicy even if you like spicy foods. I got my stomach hot because of the chili :') But it's delicious! You know, sometimes spicy foods makes you want to eat more of it.
We also order Tahu Gimbal. It's kinda Tahu Tek/ Tahu Telur (Indonesian tofu fried together with eggs and has peanut sauce on it) served with beansprout and crispy prawn chips (it really has prawns on it). Its peanut sauce is different with the saty's peanut sauce. It's less sweet and has slightly spicy taste. But you can order it without chili (ours was 1 chili only).
Then we ate Pindang Sapi. Usually when you say you eat pindang, people will imagine some fried fishes. But this one doesn't have fish at all. It's kinda beef soup with Mlinjo leaves, it has sweet taste (i guess its pretty weird; i haven't taste that kind of taste before), sweet like Semanggi sauce (some kind of Indonesian traditional food, which sauce is made from soy bean instead of usual peanut sauce), it has lots of sliced garlic too.
And last, we order Gulai Iga Sapi. Gulai is one of Indonesian famous dishes which contain lots of oil and coconut milk, and it taste slightly hot. This Gulai meat is beef ribs. Well, who doesn't like ribs? Of course i'm not a part of that team. :D
I also had taro popsicle dipped in cjocolate for dessert (It's from Rome ice cream factory, not their self-made ice).
In conclusion, all foods i tasted early this day is really good! It satisfy my taste buds and i'm pretty sure i have good tounge for Indonesian food ^^. Well, to answer your curiousity, why don't you try it yourself? Its price range is quite low, i should say it's cheap actually; and what's even better is we got delicious foods with cheap price :P
